Depending on the various brand names we produce, our sulfites-free Tej and Tej-based wines vary from golden to amber, sweet to off-dry or very dry, close to 14% alcohol content by volume. With the delicate mixture of fresh fruit and honey, our Tej-based fruit wines are produced without adding any preservatives or artificial coloring. Our extremely rare, but delightful Sparkling Tej is also carefully crafted to assure that it’s the finest, and the most exquisite Sparkling Tej (Ethiopia’s Tej Champagne). Most fermented wines are categorized for specific palates: red wines for meat, white for fish or poultry, and champagne for celebration, and so on. Unlike other wines, our authentic Tej and Tej-based wines have the delicate taste of a thirst-quenching, stimulating aperitif, and complement all dishes, desserts or simply by itself with full sensual pleasures. In fact it would be difficult to find a more accommodating wine other than ours for a broader range of food. Experts who evaluate varieties of wines, including ours, at national and international wine competitions have awarded our wines several prestigious Medals as well as Best of Class award. Named after the Kingdom of Axum, the center of Ethiopian’s civilization, Axum Tej is a naturally fermented Tej, that has been made without any sulfites or any kind of additives. Just like our Saba Tej, Axum is gently processed to create semi-sweet alcohol content of 13.5% by volume.
